AutoCAD is probably the most widely used CAD programme in industries for designing purposes, the world over. It is for this reason, that we at Northlink College want to equip our students with cutting edge technology needed to compete in the Engineering fields such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, etc. The individual’s N2/N3 Engineering Drawing qualification combined with AutoCAD actually makes him/her employable immediately as a CAD Operator in a Drawing Office. By making this skills course available to the community could help alleviate unemployment.
he course is based on SAQA Unit Standard 14473: Develop and produce Computer Aided Drawings. The full course covers 2D comprehensively, thus enabling a prospective student to draw any drawing in 2D to line stage and produce a hard copy. An introduction to 3D is also covered in the syllabus.
